NT’s White Trash

Born a year and a half ago on the premise to make some noise, NT’s White Trash unleash their debut album Mourning Becomes Electric on the 18th May 2011 via Stupido Records.

Nick Triani says of the new band: “I’ve been yearning to get back into making more of my own music since the last Treeball album was released in 2006. I’ve always coveted American lo-fi aesthetics over any British indie ideals, especially with the last couple of bands I’ve been in. NT’s White Trash is loose and ragged by choice, and an opportunity to bridge the gap between my old band Supermodel‘s lo-fi thrash and Treeball’s more considered pop. The album title refers to this new opportunity to turn things up!”

NT’s White Trash are:

Nick Triani: Vocals and Guitar.
Triani has been releasing records since 1984. Triani’s pre-Finland band Supermodel were described by the NME as “leading the vanguard of British lo-fi bands” and by the Melody Maker as “a revolution in sound”. Once in Finland Triani fronted Treeball who released 4 albums between 2002-2006. They were described by Tero Alanko in Soundi as “One of the best band’s in their own wide genre to come out of Finland”.

Heikki Tikka : Drums, Vocals
Tikka is a legendary sticks-man with a reputation as one of the best drummers to come out of Finland. Tikka cut his teeth on early Kauko Röyhkä and went on to play with Hearthill, Kerko Koskinen, Jonna Tervomaa, Mummypowder, The Krispies and The Tunes whilst also producing music for Maritta Kuula.

Janne Lehtinen: Bass, Vocals, Guitar
A mainstay in Triani’s former band Treeball, Lehtinen fronts his own band Mummypowder who have released three critically acclaimed albums. His versatility as a musician is renowned where he has played everything from drums, bass, keyboards and sung vocals on a variety of Finnish releases. Lehtinen has also designed many a record sleeve, his work adorns NT’s White Trash‘s cover.

Henrik Domingo: Guitar
The newest member of NT’s White Trash, Henrik Domingo is the front man for indie combo Kiki Pau, who’s two albums so far have bought Finnish indie music right up to date. Domingo is now rightly rated as the heir to Snowy White.

NT’s White Trash‘s debut album Mourning Becomes Electric was recorded and mixed by Triani in eight days between late 2009 through to late 2010.
